Series: Spotlight on Port Dalhousie – The Juniper Inn

Author

This is the first article in the series: “Spotlight on Port Dalhousie.” We love this vibrant waterfront community and we are pretty sure you will too!  For those of you who have yet to visit Port Dalhousie,  “Port” is located on a small peninsula that separates Martindale Pond from Lake Ontario in the City of St. Catharines, Ontario.  This quaint port-side village is a beautiful place to visit year-round, but it definitely roars to life in the summer months.   Sandwiched between two bodies of water, this community attracts throngs of beachgoers, boaters, and water sport enthusiasts to its beautiful shores.

In this article, we are focusing on Niagara’s first boutique, luxury hotel – The Juniper Inn.  Located just steps from the beach and harbourfront in a historic building at the intersection of Lock Street and Lakeport Road (known today as 38 Lakeport Road), the inn is housed in a landmark building that dates back to 1885 when grocer Edward Murphy established a shipping supply store (or chandlery).  This business lasted into the 1970s in some capacity or another and provided supplies for ships and crews passing through the canal.

Consisting of six unique suites, this hotel offers carefully appointed and tastefully decorated rooms.  From the charming “Cactus” suite to the industrially designed “Zebra” room,  guests will enjoy trying to decide which suite to choose for their stay.  The Juniper Inn is committed to a “carefree and sustainable experience” that begins with “a digital self-check-in, no headaches and no hassles or lines.”

The hotel’s owner and hostess, Adriana, provides exceptional service and hospitality to each and every guest.  Guests can expect top quality products in their rooms, most often, sourced locally and sustainably.

Adriana and her staff believe that every choice matters. They hope to change the world, one plastic-free product at a time.  They strive to provide their guests with life’s little luxuries while honouring their respect for the environment at the same time.  Guests can rest assured that their room will be ready and waiting for them, so that they can begin enjoying their well-deserved rest and relaxation.

When you visit Port Dalhousie, consider staying at the Juniper Inn. You will enjoy all of the amenities of this luxurious, boutique hotel that is ideally located in the heart of the historic district and its bustling shops, restaurants and pubs.  Come discover this quaint waterfront village!
